209 minutes of testing time, which is 3 hours 29 minutes, plus one optional 10-minute break after Math. ATI says to plan for up to four hours in total.
Time by section
| Section | Questions | Time | Per question |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reading | 45 | 55 min | 73 s |
| Mathematics | 38 | 57 min | 90 s |
| Science | 50 | 60 min | 72 s |
| English and Language Usage | 37 | 37 min | 60 s |
What the clock means for you
- English is the tightest section: one minute per question.
- Math gives the most time per question, about 90 seconds, because of the calculations.
- Time left over in one section doesn't carry to the next, so use it to check flagged questions.
Practice your pacing
Every section of our free diagnostic runs on a countdown, scaled to its length. The full mocks on the TEAS pass use the real section times.
Questions
Is there a break during the TEAS?
One 10-minute break after the Math section, and it doesn't use testing time (ATI Help). On a remote exam, leaving at any other time can be flagged.
